Les règles de la classe
Come to class on time and ready to learn.
Bring your textbook, binder, paper, writing utensil, and laptop to class every day. I also encourage you to bring 3 x 5 note cards in two different colors with you to create vocabulary flashcards.
Complete your homework on time and be prepared to discuss the assignment during class. Late homework is not accepted.
Study for tests and quizzes well in advance so that you may ask me for help if you need it. Your grade for the class will be based on homework and class participation (33%), quizzes (33%), and tests (33%).
Speak French as much as possible, even if you are afraid of making a mistake. Your main opportunity to practice your French is during class, and it is understood that mistakes will happen, and we will all learn from them together!
Keep your laptop closed unless otherwise directed. You may not use your laptop to take notes during class. You must take notes by hand.
Please keep requests to use the restroom to a minimum. This should be taken care of before or after class.
The school policies on uniforms, cell phones, tardiness, as well as all other rules stated in the handbook will be enforced in class.
No food or drinks are permitted in the classroom. Water in a clear bottle is acceptable.
If you are absent, please speak to me as soon as possible about making up assignments.
Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. If you are unsure about what constitutes plagiarism or about how to cite a source, please ask me before proceeding with your assignment.
Do not use online translators to write in French. Looking up a word or two in an online dictionary is acceptable, but I will be able to tell very easily if you have used a translator to write sentences or paragraphs. Please do not do this!
Above all, remember that the classroom is an environment of respect. Please show respect to your classmates and to me, and I will do the same for you.
