Classroom Requirements
Algebra II

Daily Procedures:
Arrive on time!
Be prepared with the following:
+ Pencil/ Color Pencils/ NO PENS
≥ Covered textbook (no contact paper)
× TI-84 Graphing Calculator
≤ Binder with a folder OR a five subject notebook with a folder in it (no composition books)
≠ Graph paper
± Ruler
(Laptops will not be needed unless told otherwise.)
When the bell rings you should be in your seat with your homework out. You should be checking your answers to the homework and doing the warm-up problems while I go around and check that you have done the assignment (Homework will be graded).
The new lesson will follow and you will be expected to:
≈ Take notes
− Actively participate
≡ Copy sample problems
∕ Respond to any asked questions
Notebook: Keep notebook or binder (whichever you choose) neat and organized. Since the homework and notes are your study guide you may keep them in whichever order benefits you. Make sure to write the date on the top of all homework and notes. All homework MUST have the original problem written down and all work showing me how you got your answer. If you do not have this you will not get full credit for the homework. Keep all handouts, quizzes and tests in your folder for the midterm and final exams.
Attendance: If you are absent you are responsible for the following:
↨ Check web page, call a classmate or e-mail me for the notes you have missed.
∂ Make sure to get the homework assignment because it will be due the day you come back. If you are having a hard time with the homework, then at least write the problems down. The homework will then be due the following class.
⌂ If you have any problems with either the notes that you have missed or homework, e-mail me or set up a time with me for extra help.
⌐ If you are absent on the day of a test/quiz you are expected to take it the following day before school, after school or at lunch. Make sure you come and see me first thing in the morning to set up a time. If you do not make up the test/quiz within 2 days or have at least spoken to me about it, points will be taken off your test/quiz grade.
◊ If you are absent for an extended period of time please contact me.
Extra Help: Do not be afraid to ask for help. I am always ready and willing to help whenever needed. I will be at school at 7:15 each morning. I also stay after school until at least 2:30 if not later. If you can not make either, please let me know, so we can try to set up a time during your lunch period for extra help.
Grading:
1. Tests 50%
2. Quizzes 30%
3. Homework 10%
4. Class work and participate 10%
