Floor Hockey
Review Sheet
Objective:
To hit the puck into the goal net of the opponent.
Essentials:
Full court
2 Half courts
Sticks, pucks, scoreboard
Protective gear (see "Safety")
How to Play:
5 to 6 players on a team.
Goalie:
Must stand while protecting the goal box.
Should wear protective face and chest gear.
Can use only feet and stick to stop or deflect the puck
Cannot score a goal from his/her own goal box.
Players:
May not bring the stick above the knees at anytime. This is called high sticks.
Must maintain a spread hand grip on the stick at all times.
There may be only one person from each team at the puck during play.
No hitting or swinging at the puck while it is in the air.
No scoring from beyond the half court line. (This is called icing.)
Defense makes the calls if there are no referees.
Start game with a center bully. (The sticks are tapped three times and then the puck is hit.)
Start play with the puck at center court when a team has scored.
A player may only score two goals in a row.
Players may not intentionally use their feet to control, trap, or stop the puck.
When a puck is stuck in the net, the goalie gets possession.
