Heat Rate = Pulse = Heart Beats Per Minute
BPM = Beats Per Minute
Resting Heart Rate = BPM when your body is at total rest. It is best taken when you get up in the morning.
Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) = Maximum beats your heart can work. It should never get to this rate. To determine this rate subtract your age from the number 226.
Target Heart Rate (THR) or Working Heart Rate = 50% to 85% of MHR. This is the exercise rate where you will get a good cardiovascular or aerobic workout. This rate should be maintained for 20 minutes.
Recover Rate = How long it takes your heart to return to your resting rate after exercise.
After 5 min. no higher than 120 BPM. After 10 minutes no higher than 100 BPM.
