TESTS are announced at least one week in advance.
Any multiple choice question will only have one answer. The part two
section of the test comes from your homework and class work assignments.
In order to obtain full credit for open ended answers on tests you must show work
for all calculations and write in complete sentences for any short answer
questions. Showing work includes the equation with no numbers,
the equation with numbers, an answer with an appropriate unit and a list of the
givens from the problem.
The date of the test will be written on the
classroom board. It will also be posted on the website but the classroom
board is the FINAL SAY!
Tests are worth 100 points.
LAB REPORTS need to be turned in on their due
date to receive full credit.
Due dates will be written on the classroom board. Failure to
do so will result in a loss of ten percent of the grade each day it is not
turned in.
Lab reports are generally worth 30 points.

INFORMATION GIVEN IN THE LINK TO THE FORMAT OF LAB REPORTS. FAILURE TO DO
SO WILL RESULT IN POOR LAB GRADES.
HOMEWORK will be checked about ten times
throughout each quarter. Doing homework is the only way to be successful
in this course. It will allow you to tell if you are comprehending the
material and I use homework questions as part of the open ended questions on
tests and quizzes.
Homework is worth 10 points each quarter.
CLASS PARTICIPATION includes classroom behavior,
preparedness for class including calculator and textbook access, following
directions, lab
behavior and attentiveness during class.
It is worth 40 points each
quarter.

FOR EXTRA HELP OR MAKING UP OF ANY MISSED WORK DURING LUNCH SINCE I ONLY HAVE A
FIFTEEN MINUTE LUNCH PERIOD. therefore, YOU CAN MAKE UP THE WORK DURING
ANY STUDY PERIODS AND ALSO AFTER SCHOOL SO PLAN ACCORDINGLY.
Being absent from one class prior to the test or quiz DOES NOT exempt you from taking that test or quiz on the scheduled day SINCE I DO NOT TEACH ANY NEW MATERIAL AT THAT TIME. NOT HAVING YOUR NOTES WITH YOU IS NO EXCUSE EITHER. LEARN TO PLAN AHEAD. SINCE TESTS AND QUIZZES ARE NOT A SURPRISE, BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR NOTES WITH YOU IN THE EVENT YOU COULD BE ABSENT. ANOTHER STRATEGY IS TO HAVE A CLASSROOM BUDDY WHO WILL GET MATERIALS YOU NEED TO YOU AND ALSO KEEP YOU INFORM OF THE HAPPENINGS IN THE CLASS DURING YOUR ABSENCE.
I REALIZE THAT SOME TEACHERS USE EMAILING FREQUENTLY IN THEIR CLASSES AND IT WORKS VERY WELL FOR THEM. THAT IS NOT THE CASE FOR ME. DO NOT EMAIL ME:
