How to use a BCCLS database

To use the BCCLS online databases:

  1. Go to the BCCLS website at http://www.bccls.org/databases/log-in.shtml.


     

  2. Type in your Bergen County library card number to access each database. If you don't have a Bergen County library card, get one. It's worth it!
     

  3. Click on the database you need to use such as EBSCO, INFOTRAC, or PROQUEST then start your search.


EBSCO

EBSCOHost is the leading search platform for full-text online research databases in institutions worldwide. It also offers access to NoveList, a reader's advisory for fiction.
 

INFOTRAC

INFOTRAC provides searching of ten databases, including magazines, newspapers, and books about business, health, literature, biography, and general reference. INFOTRAC indexes The Record, The Star Ledger, and The New York Times.

InfoTrac is designed especially for secondary schools and features titles most critical to their libraries and curriculum. Sources include:

􀂉 17 full‐text ready reference books

􀂉 historical images and 300+ full‐color Rand McNally maps

PROQUEST

PROQUEST provides searching of three databases that index newspapers (including the Chicago Tribune and the Los Angeles Times back to 1985, and the New York Times back to 1851) and magazines on a wide range of topics including the arts, business, humanities, health, social sciences, and the sciences.
