NJSIAA policies as stated in the organization's Constitution, By-Laws and
Rules & Regulations. These principals are the guidelines used to formulate
Immaculate Heart Academy's specific policies outlined below.
- Students
participating in athletics should insure that their conduct brings credit
to themselves, their school, and their sport. The penalty for the display
of unsportsmanlike conduct will be left to the discretion of the coach's
pre-season policies.

meant to be played by people of integrity. There are no referees in golf so
all gofers are expected to play with honesty and integrity. Cheating of ANY
type will not be tolerated. Golfers who engage in cheating will be
suspended from the team for the season.
Cheating –

earned score on any given hole for yourself or playing partner
2. Changing in any way “the lie”
for benefit/ knowingly playing a ball that is not your own
3. Not reporting any rules
violations (even the ones that were genuine mistakes)

these grades is based on the day the grades are due to the Director of
Studies. There is no possibility of regaining eligibility by good
progress or reports.
a. Student Athletes are expected
to be better than the average student. Coach Stayton will be in constant
contact with all of the Golfer’s teachers. If a teacher makes me aware of
an academic problem, that student will not be allowed to miss any school to
participate in Golf events until the problem is rectified.
b. There will be occasions when
Golfer’s will miss school to participate in a tournament. When this is the
case, it is the student’s responsibility to contact the teacher and make up
any work missed as per the directions of that teacher. Any teacher who
makes Coach Stayton aware of a situation where a student has failed to live
up to this responsibility, the student will lose the privilege of excused
school absences.
- The
student/athlete suspended from school or on probation is also suspended
from sports activities and all other curricular activities during the time
of her probation.
-
Participation in ALL Practices and Matches are Mandatory. Any student
who has a serious conflict can see Coach Stayton. Just not showing up
will not cut it.
- Team members
will be given a set of “The Rules of Golf”. All golfers are expected to
study this book and be aware of the rules of the game.
- When on the
course, golfers are expected to behave in a manner which displays proper
golf etiquette. It is a privilege to play on these courses. Replace your
divots and ball marks and if you see others, replace them too. Be
courteous to other golfers on the course by maintaining pace of play and
keeping quiet conversation to a minimum. Any golfer who displays actions
on the golf course inconsistent with the “Spirit of the Game” including
but not limited to: not knowing the general rules, not being supportive
of teammates and competitors, not maintaining the condition of the golf
course, not knowing and/or displaying proper etiquette will not
participate in matches until all discrepancies are resolved.
- “Rules of
the Game” are available on the USGA website usga.org as well as sample
quizzes of the rules and many other tools to improve your knowledge of
rules and etiquette.
