a.  Student Athletes are expected to be better than the average student. Coach Stayton will be in constant contact with all of the Golfer’s teachers.  If a teacher makes me aware of an academic problem, that student will not be allowed to miss any school to participate in Golf events until the problem is rectified.

b. There will be occasions when Golfer’s will miss school to participate in a tournament.  When this is the case, it is the student’s responsibility to contact the teacher and make up any work missed as per the directions of that teacher.  Any teacher who makes Coach Stayton aware of a situation where a student has failed to live up to this responsibility, the student will lose the privilege of excused school absences.

  1. The student/athlete suspended from school or on probation is also suspended from sports activities and all other curricular activities during the time of her probation.

  4. When on the course, golfers are expected to behave in a manner which displays proper golf etiquette.  It is a privilege to play on these courses.  Replace your divots and ball marks and if you see others, replace them too.  Be courteous to other golfers on the course by maintaining pace of play and keeping quiet conversation to a minimum.  Any golfer who displays actions on the golf course inconsistent with the “Spirit of the Game” including but not limited to:  not knowing the general rules, not being supportive of teammates and competitors, not maintaining the condition of the golf course, not knowing and/or displaying proper etiquette will not participate in matches until all discrepancies are resolved.
  5. “Rules of the Game” are available on the USGA website usga.org as well as sample quizzes of the rules and many other tools to improve your knowledge of rules and etiquette.
