Choose one of the following topics and write a well-structured, well-supported paragraph showing how one of the following statements was developed in My Bondage and My Freedom:  1.  Slavery makes victims of both the slave and the slaveholder.  2.  "Good" people can indeed be capable of "bad" things.  This is a writing assignment.  To receive full credit,

  • begin with an effective topic sentence based on the statement you chose

  • integrate quotes and your interpretation (not your paraphrasing)

  • reference the TRIS format for guidance.

  • Your paragraph should not extend past one page.

  • Use proper heading format (see your MLA book - some of you did not do this in your Scarlet Letter essays)
