My Laptop is Broken. What do I do?

1) Is it really broken?  Try Help or ask a friend.

2) Bring laptop to 121.  Most problems can be fixed in minutes.  If the problem cannot be solved in 10 minutes, you will be issued with a "loaner" until your laptop is fixed. IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO REIMAGE YOUR HARD DRIVE. Make sure you have backed up your important files on the server or your home computer.

Where do I save my files?

1) By default, most files are saved to My Documents on your laptop.  This is the best place since it is private and available both at home and at school. You may save any type of file on your own hard drive.

The following are network folders. You may not save commercial .mp3 or movie files on the network.  You are limited to 20MB of storage on the network.

Do I have a school e-mail account?

There is no school email.  Students are encouraged to use their home email (aol.com, yahoo.com, hotmail.com, etc.).  It is good practice to email yourself a note and attach any files you may need on a different computer..  Warning! Most services limit your attachments to 2MB and most PowerPoints are bigger than that.

There is an index of teacher/administrator email addresses on the ihahs.com home page.

What is the Web address of IHA?

IHA has 2 active Internet sites.

ihahs.com is the school's principal site for the outside world. It is hosted externally (not part of our network). It is the best place to check at 5am on a snowy morning for school cancellation.

immaculateheartacademy.org is the school's academic site.  Teacher pages, extra-curricular activity sites and student work are located here.
