Course Requirements and Policies

1)      During the second and third marking period you will be responsible for handing in a semester project. This project MUST be handed in or you will not receive a grade.

2)    There will be optional homework assignments that you can complete during the course of the marking period, each assignment will have a due date, and the assignment will not be accepted after this due date.  THERE WILL BE NO EXTRA CREDIT in this course

3)    There are homework assignments that are REQUIRED of the entire class, those assignments are to be handed in via TurnItIn.com or Quia.com, unless otherwise noted. These assignments will not be accepted late, unless you ask for an extension prior to the due date.  Some of these assignments are for a grade, and others are for points that will become a grade at the completion of the marking period.

4)    Anything that is written that is going to be handed in for a grade should be cited correctly.  Research papers will need to be in APA style (this will be addressed).  “If you use an outside source in an assignment do not hide it….cite it”  ANY WORK THAT IS NOT YOUR OWN WILL BE A ZERO

6)    There will be point loss of  6 points per day for any major assignment that is handed in late. This includes homework that counts as a quiz grade and marking period projects. Anything handed in after one full cycle will result in a 60% ( If it is due on A-Day...and you hand it in after the next A-Day it will be a 60%)

7)    Each student will need to have an email address, that they check frequently

8) When a student has missed class it is their responsibility to email me or see me to get the missed assignments.  Even if you have an excused  absence, you still need to see me.

9) Students may take notes with their laptops in this class...however any student who is caught "off task" will be asked to take notes with a notebook for the rest of that marking period.

Grading Procedure
