Welcome to Driver Education

The following information will help you meet the requirements of the course.

  1. Please be prompt to class and sit in your assigned seats.
  1. You will receive a disc that contains the  State of New Jersey’s Driver’s Manual. When you come to class insert it and bring it on your laptop. If you want a hard copy, you can obtain one from the NJ MVC
  1. You must bring the following to every class:
    1. a pen or a pencil
    2. a folder or special place in a binder for notes and handouts
    3. your laptop 
    4. the Driver Manual Disc Or a NJ Driver Manual   
  1. Any Document or site displayed on laptops must be ones that we are currently using in class.  Having other pages displayed or minimized will result in a laptop shut down. If you are a frequent offender, your name will be given to Mr. Hotz.
  2. You are responsible for all information in this course. If you are absent you must get notes, assignments, & handouts that you missed.

  3. All tests, quizzes and assignments are announced and posted on Mrs. Skjold’s web site. If you miss any of the mentioned you must make it up the day you return to school.
  4. Any item handed in late will be marked down ten points each day it is late. Any item five days late will result in a zero.
  5. This thirty hour Drive Education Classroom Theory Course is approved by the State of New Jersey. It will prepare you for your learner’s permit. At the end of the course you will take a written exam that is prepared by the MVC.  A score of 80% or better is passing. This exam will satisfy the written exam required for a learner’s permit. When the exam card is issued keep it in a safe place. To fill out the card you must know your legal name. (It usually is the one that appears on your schedule.)
  6. There is no eating or drinking in the classroom.
  7. Grading will be based on all written work and class participation. You will loose two participation points if you come unprepared to class. Refer to number 2 & 3 for what you must bring to class.
  8. Students with poor attendance will not be able to receive their exam card until course responsibilities are completed.
  9. Stay current! Check Mrs. Skjold’s website everyday.

Instructions on how to open to the NJ Driver Manual  from the Disc.

  1. Place disc in laptop

  2. From pop up click "open folder to view files"

  3. Click on "NJ Driver Manual"

  4. Click on "NJ Driver Manual English"

  5. Wait for the PDF to load

                     OR

  1. Insert disc into laptop

  2. Click on  "Start"

  3. Click "My Computer"

  4. Under "Devices and Removable Storage" Click "NJMVC (E:)"

  5. Click on "NJ Driver Manual"

  6. Click on "NJ Driver Manual English"

  7. Wait for the PDF to load
